Editorial Policies
At OpenCognovate, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of academic publishing through our comprehensive editorial policies. These guidelines ensure the integrity, quality, and accessibility of the research we publish while promoting ethical and transparent scholarship.
Open Access Policy
All publications on our platform are freely accessible under the Open Access model, eliminating subscription or access fees. This approach aligns with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full texts of all our publications.
Copyright Policy
All published content at OpenCognovate follows a flexible and author-friendly copyright policy, ensuring that authors retain ownership of their work while promoting broad dissemination.
- Book Chapters are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported (CC BY 3.0) and Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
- Monographs are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, granting rights to all users except for commercial purposes.
- Journal Articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
By retaining exclusive copyright to their work, authors can freely reuse, distribute, and share their research, while ensuring that original materials are properly published and attributed.
Attribution Policy
Proper attribution is essential in open-access publishing to maintain academic integrity. OpenCognovate requires that all reused or adapted content is cited appropriately, ensuring that authors receive proper credit for their work.
Ethics Standards
We uphold the highest ethical publishing standards, in alignment with the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher must adhere to ethical principles related to honesty, transparency, and responsible research practices.
Equity and Bias-Free Communication
OpenCognovate is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusivity in scholarly communication. We strive for bias-free language, ensuring that all research is evaluated purely based on merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
Conflicts of Interest Policy
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their objectivity. OpenCognovate follows the COPE and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines to ensure transparency and credibility in the publication process.
Authorship Policy
To qualify for authorship, individuals must:
- Contribute significantly to the research, including study design, data collection, or analysis.
- Be involved in drafting, reviewing, or critically revising the manuscript.
- Approve the final version of the work for publication.
Peer Review Policy
All submissions undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and credibility of research. Reviewers and editors evaluate manuscripts objectively, confidentially, and without conflicts of interest, following COPE’s ethical review guidelines.
Quality Standards
To maintain excellence in academic publishing, OpenCognovate adheres to strict quality standards:
- Originality and Innovation: Research must provide new insights, methodologies, or applications.
- Methodological Rigor: Submissions should follow established scientific and scholarly standards.
- Clarity and Structure: Manuscripts should be well-organized, clearly written, and properly referenced.
Online First Policy
To facilitate rapid knowledge dissemination, OpenCognovate publishes accepted articles Online First before their formal inclusion in an issue or volume. This ensures that new research reaches the academic community without unnecessary delays.
Citation Policy
Authors must ensure that all references and citations are accurate, complete, and properly formatted. Self-citation should be appropriate and justified, and any form of citation manipulation is strictly prohibited.
Prior Publication Policy
To maintain academic integrity and originality, OpenCognovate does not accept submissions that have been previously published in other journals, conference proceedings, or platforms, unless explicitly stated under preprint policies.
Refund Policy
If an author withdraws their manuscript after the peer review process has started or after acceptance, OpenCognovate does not issue refunds for article processing charges (APCs), except in cases of editorial errors or technical failures on our platform.
